Drain Stack Replacement

The drain stack is the main vertical pipe that carries waste from every fixture in your home down to the sewer line. In many older homes it is cast iron, and after decades it rusts through, cracks, or leaks at the joints. The Pipefather replaces worn-out stacks in homes across Cleveland’s west side suburbs.

Signs your stack needs attention

  • Slow drains in more than one fixture

  • Gurgling toilets or sinks

  • Sewer gas smell in the basement

  • Rust stains or moisture along the stack or at the joints

  • Cracks, or pipe that crumbles when touched

  • Backups that snaking doesn’t fix.

What we do

  1. 1. Look at the stack and its connections and find what’s failing before we quote.

  2. Explain your options in plain words, with the cost before work starts.

  3. Replace the stack with new Schedule 40 PVC that meets code. We pull the permits.

  4. Add clean-out access where it’s needed, so the line is easy to service later.

  5. Clean up and leave your basement in better shape than we found it.
